Pioneer Carry asked me a while back if there was anything I’d like to check out from the brand in addition to the backpacks they’ve been sending over, and I focused in on the Zen Zips which are a pair of tiny little pouches. They had been out of stock, but recently Pioneer Carry was kind enough to send over these cute little pouches, and I’m glad they did.

This a fun and quirky, and a great thing to have on hand.

Materials & Specs

These use Pioneer Carry’s 10XD material which is an ultra-high-molecular-weight-polyethylene with a DWR coating — if you’ve not felt this before, it unlikely to be what you expect when you first handle it. These have a YKK AquaGuard locking zipper on them and inside a small internal divider.

What’s of note is the size: 2.76” x 2.76” x 0.79” — which comes out to round about “pretty small”.

In Use

Here’s how Pioneer Carry describes these little pouches:

Find your inner-peace by protecting the small stuff that’s the first to get lost. Perfect for all Airpods, Airtags, loose keys, pills, ketchup packets and more. The back side features a durable attachment point that can be slid onto belts or hooked to carabiners, lanyards etc.

My description is a little different: cute, fun, and superfluous in all the right ways.

I’ve been using one of these to hold things like an RSA banking key, and and some physical keys I have for a space I work out of. It’s a good setup for getting easy access to small things which might otherwise be lost at the bottom of a pouch or pocket. Especially handy to clip this to key leashes in bags, so you can always get to this little pouch.

This type of pouch can be really hard to describe, as you likely do have things small enough that you might want to fit in this, but at the same time, you might not be convinced you need a pouch for them.

For the most part, I think people don’t need a pouch for those items. But for people who are constantly shifting bags, a small pouch like this is essential for keeping things organized and readily accessible.

Overall

This is a fun pouch, and I’m a fan of it. It’s a great gift as well, as it’s decently unique, while still being quite useful.
